Summers haze on Summers days is what I do enjoy

Sitting ‘neath a tree standing tall and proud

Cold bottle of cider in one hand and a book in t’other

Looking out to a scene wild and true

Be it mountains, fields, hills or sea All are fine

Being at peace and free of constraints

Being one with the earth ‘neath my feet and the sky above

Chowing down on an apple or two

Maybe a sarnie

Out the wicker basket they come

That’s summer for me
